Buying a new bike is exciting, but don't skip the pre-delivery inspection. This essential checklist ensures your motorcycle is delivered in perfect condition. From documents to defects, here are 6 key things to check before you ride out.

Check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

Verify that the bike’s chassis or VIN number on the invoice and RC match the one engraved on the bike. This confirms you’re getting the same model you booked, avoiding any registration issues later.

Inspect Physical Condition Thoroughly

Check the bike for scratches, dents, paint defects, and loose panels. Don’t ignore even minor damages. Make sure mirrors, indicators, footpegs, levers, and body panels are properly installed.

Odometer Reading Must Be Minimal

The odometer should show a very low reading—generally below 50 km. A higher number may indicate excessive test rides or transportation usage. Always ask the dealer if the reading is high.

Verify Tool Kit and User Manual

Ensure the tool kit and user manual are present under the seat or in the storage box. These are often missed during delivery. Also, check for the warranty card, battery warranty, and service booklet.

Confirm Fluid Levels and Fuel

Make sure the bike has enough petrol for a short ride and that engine oil, brake fluid, and coolant levels are appropriate. Low fluids may damage the engine or brakes before your first service.

Test All Electricals and Features

Turn on the ignition and check indicators, headlight, brake light, horn, and dashboard display. Confirm if ABS, riding modes, or Bluetooth features work. A quick test ride ensures everything’s functional.
