Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is a vintage motorcycle renowned for its legendary appearance, sturdy build, and smooth ride. It has been a favourite among motorcycle riders for 9 decades due to its thumping exhaust and classic appearance. The Bullet 350 price ranges between Rs 1.77 Lakh and 2.20 Lakh in India.

The Bullet 350 BS6 was introduced in March 2020 with a better 349cc engine. The motorcycle is still vintage and now features ABS, electric start, and better suspension for improved handling. Moreover, the Bullet 350 mileage of 37 kmpl has also been enhanced after the introduction of BS6 standards.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350: Origin and Expansion

Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has been manufactured for years, which makes it the longest-manufacturing motorcycle. It began in 1932 when Royal Enfield from British Redditch, England, launched the Bullet.

The first RE Bullet came in two variants: 346cc and 499cc. It was characterised by an inclined engine, exposed valve components, and girder front suspension forks. These elements make it unique and provide it with a rugged, vintage look, which we can witness even now. 

During World War II (1939–1945), the Bullet became a crucial part of the British Army and Royal Air Force (RAF). Soldiers used it for dispatch duties, and the military supplied over 3,000 units. This time, it brought improvements to the bike, including rocker boxes for better efficiency, hydraulic front forks, and an aluminium cylinder head.

Following the war, Royal Enfield was one of the first companies to use a swing-arm rear suspension. It makes this cruiser bike more comfortable to ride and easy to handle. In addition, the Bullet gained fame in off-road racing and won gold medals in events such as the International Six Days Trial (ISDT).

In 1949, the Indian Army ordered Royal Enfield Bullets for patrol duty along the borders. The company partnered with Madras Motors so that they could build the motorcycles locally. In 1955, they set up a factory in Madras (Chennai), and they started producing the Bullet 350 in huge numbers.

The Bullet gained popularity in India at a fast rate, especially among police officers, military men, and motorcycle enthusiasts. Its strong build, simple mechanics, and reliability contributed to its popularity.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350: Challenges & Modernisation

There were no significant changes in the design or engine of the bike from 1955 to 1990s. In addition, the company struggled in the 1980s and 1990s when Indian shores were invaded by Japanese motorcycles.

These new bikes were lighter, more efficient, and had less maintenance, making them great rivals. Royal Enfield could not compete, and by the mid-1990s, the firm was nearly bankrupt.

Eicher Motors acquired Enfield India in 1995 and gave it a new start. One of their major moves was the acquisition of rights to the name Royal Enfield. They also launched the Bullet Electra. It featured modern features such as CDI electronic ignition, gas-charged shock absorbers, and an electric start option.

To improve performance, Royal Enfield teamed up with Austrian company AVL to develop a new alloy lean-burn engine. Moreover, it replaced the old cast-iron engine. Some old-school fans missed the classic “thump” sound, but this change helped Royal Enfield evolve.

By 2007, stricter European emissions rules compelled Royal Enfield to discontinue the old cast-iron engine. They brought out the Unit Construction Engine (UCE), where they incorporated the gearbox and crankcase in a single unit. This resulted in a more rugged bike and an easier maintenance process.

The firm stopped production of its 500cc bikes in 2020. Since the company wishes to concentrate on the 350cc Bullet and new 650cc models for international markets. Further, the 2023 new-gen Bullet 350 was introduced with a more powerful frame, improved suspension, and enhanced brakes.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350 comes in 4 variants. Among them, the base, mid and top variants were launched alongside the 2023 Bullet 350 in September. The Battalion Black Bullet 350 and base variants are priced at around Rs 1.77 Lakh. Moreover, the Next Gen Mid costs Rs 2 Lakh, and the most premium variant Next Gen Top is available for ₹ 2.20 Lakh.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Colours

The colours of Royal Enfield Bullet 350 are classic and vintage-inspired that add to its timeless appeal. In 2024, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 was available in 9 colour options. However, in January 2025, two colors, including Military Silver Black and Military Silver Red, were discontinued.

Now, this cruiser bike comes in 6 colour options. The base variant is available in Bullet 350 Military Black and Military Red colours. The Next Gen Mid Variant comes in two rugged shades, including Standard Maroon and Black. 

Also, the top Variant is offered in an exclusive Black Gold colour with a stunning matte and gloss finish. Apart from this, the company launched a Battalion Black colour option in September 2024. All these paint choices perfectly match its iconic personality.

The Bullet 350 is powered by a 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivers 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. This engine is designed for smooth and relaxed riding.
