Honda Motorcycle And Scooter India is preparing to increase its market share in the Indian two-wheeler market. The brand is expected to launch various new two-wheelers in India between 2025 and 2027. These models include 10 new electric two-wheelers, two bikes in the 500cc category, a cruiser, and an adventure scooter. Come, let's get into the details.
At the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the brand launched the Activa e and QC1. By this, they marked their recent entry into the Indian electric scooter industry. According to sources, they are currently developing up to 10 new electric vehicle models. Four models of which might be released between 2025 and 2027. Moreover, the other models are expected to be launched over the next five years. Future EVs will probably be a combination of fixed-battery models like the QC1 and swappable batteries like the Activa e.
Most likely, one of these two-wheelers is a 4kW commuter bike. Honda claims that it will be on par with 100cc motorcycles that run on petrol. Moreover, the brand plans to establish a specialised electric two-wheeler factory in India by 2028. Furthermore, this initiative makes it a major base for the production of its worldwide EV models.
One of the next releases may be the Honda adventure-style maxi-scooter, also known as the K4LA. This can be based on the ADV 160, which is already on sale in global markets. It has a 157cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 16.22PS and 14.7Nm of torque.
The scooter's dimensions include 165mm of ground clearance, 133kg kerb weight, and 780mm seat height. Additionally, it has a USB charging port, LED light, a digital display, an adjustable windscreen, and single-channel ABS. It is anticipated to launch in 2026 and will be priced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom). Furthermore, this model will go up against the Aprilia SXR 160, the Hero Xoom 160, and the Yamaha Aerox.
Alongside the CB300R, Honda is getting ready to launch the Rebel 300, a bobber-style cruiser with a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It weighs 170 kg and has a seat height of 690 mm, both of which are significantly smaller than its primary competitor, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Additionally, the Rebel 300 and CB300R have the same pricing in the USA. At Rs 2.40 lakh, Honda's price tag might remain competitive if it relocates its manufacturing to India. It may be introduced here in 2026 or 2027.
The MLHJ and MLWA are the code names for two new forthcoming 500cc motorbikes that the Japanese company is developing. They might receive brand-new, air-cooled, single-cylinder 500cc engines instead of the NX500's parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 471cc engines. Particularly, the reason is that if they use the NX500 engine, the price of the bike will become higher.
The anticipated arrival time of these motorcycles is sometime in 2026 or 2027. Additionally, to bridge the gap between Royal Enfield's 350cc and 650cc motorcycles, they could be priced at Rs 2.50 lakh. Ex-showroom pricing for the Classic 350 and 650 fall between Rs 1.9-2.3 lakh and Rs 3.4-3.50 lakh, respectively.
