The demand for technologically advanced features, especially TFT screens, has increased in the Indian two-wheeler industry in recent years. Brighter colours and more contrast allow TFT screens to present a wide range of information. Acknowledging this trend, a number of manufacturers have released reasonably priced bikes with TFT screens to appeal to tech-savvy riders on a tight budget. Honda has updated its Hornet 2.0; now it features a reverse multicolour digital display with Bluetooth connectivity. The display shows the navigation, call alerts, and SMS notifications via the Honda RoadSync app. Additionally, the bike comes with a USB-C charging port, traction control system, and dual-channel ABS as standard features. In terms of performance, the Honda Hornet 2.0 has a 184.4cc engine that produces 17.03 bhp and 15.9 Nm of torque.
With a TFT screen, the Honda SP 160 is the most reasonably priced Honda motorcycle. The 4.2-inch TFT dash with three brightness settings and a white backdrop is also included, as it is on all previous Honda models. Additionally, with smartphone connectivity, it shows incoming calls, music, and turn-by-turn navigation. Lastly, it is powered by a 162.71cc air-cooled engine, producing 13.27 bhp and 14.58 Nm of peak torque, and comes with single-channel ABS as standard.
TVS has introduced a new variant of the TVS Raider 125, featuring a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. This display offers Bluetooth connectivity, voice assist, navigation, incoming call alerts, and ride reports through the SmartXonnect system. Furthermore, it is powered by a 124.8cc engine, delivering 11.2 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque, and includes features like LED lighting, under-seat storage, and two riding modes: Eco and Power.
The newly released Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid is Yamaha's most reasonably priced model with a TFT screen. Since its launch, the Fi Hybrid is the first FZ to come with a 4.2-inch TFT screen. Smartphone connectivity provides call alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, and music control.
The suffix "hybrid" indicates a newly added integrated starting generator. Additionally, this function has a start/stop mechanism that quickly pulls the clutch to restart the engine after cutting it in traffic. The bike comes with a 149cc engine that generates 12.4 PS and 13.3 Nm.
The Hero Xpulse 210 is a strong competitor among reasonably priced adventure motorcycles due to its modern features. The most expensive model has a 4.2-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth for connection. In addition to adventure-ready features like a big windscreen, strong knuckle guards, and a rear luggage rack, it also has dual-channel ABS with three riding modes for increased safety and control. Mechanically, the Hero bike has a 210cc engine that generates 24.2 bhp and 20.7 Nm of torque.
