Simple One Gen 1.5 Launched : India’s Longest-Range Electric Scooter

Simple Energy has launched the Simple One Gen 1.5 electric scooter in India at Rs. 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom). This new version brings many performance, technology, and convenience upgrades over the previous model. The biggest highlight is the increased range of 248 km per charge, which makes it India’s longest-range electric two-wheeler.

The company is actively working on expanding its presence across India. Simple Energy already has 10 operational showrooms in cities like Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, and Kochi. The brand has an ambitious expansion plan to launch 150 new showrooms and 200 service centres across 23 states by FY2026.

Better Performance & Stylish Design 

The Gen 1.5 version of the Simple One features a 5kWh battery system, which consists of a fixed 3.7kWh battery and a portable 1.3kWh unit. Due to software improvements, the IDC-certified range has increased from 212 km to 248 km per charge.

The scooter’s 8.5 kW (11.4 bhp) electric motor delivers a peak torque of 72Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds. The top speed is 105 kmph, which makes it a practical choice for both city commutes and long-distance rides.

The Simple One Gen 1.5 continues to feature a futuristic design with sharp, aerodynamic styling. The company offers multiple colour options to suit different rider preferences. One of the biggest advantages of this scooter is its 30+ litres of under-seat storage, which is among the largest in its category. 

New Smart Features and Connectivity

The updated scooter comes with multiple new smart and safety features, enhancing the riding experience.

• App integration for real-time data, remote access, and ride statistics.
• Turn-by-turn navigation to help riders find their way easily.
• Customisable dash themes and auto-brightness for a personalised riding experience.
• Find My Vehicle feature for locating the scooter quickly.
• Regenerative braking (up to 7%) to improve battery efficiency.
• Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for better safety and control.
• Park Assist with forward and reverse movement, making tight parking effortless.
• USB charging port to keep devices powered on the go.
• Guide me home lights for added convenience in low-light conditions.
• These smart technology enhancements ensure that the Simple One remains competitive in the rapidly growing electric scooter market.
