Ola Electric launched the new Roadster X Plus electric motorbike in India. It is available in two different battery capacities, 4.5kWh and 9.1kWh, with prices of Rs 1.05 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively. Additionally, these are the introductory prices only for 7 days. This launch takes place shortly after the launch of the third-gen Ola S1 portfolio last week. The deliveries for the 9.1kWh variant will start from the next quarter, while the deliveries of the lower-spec variants will begin from March. Let’s get into the details.
There are two battery capacities available for the Roadster X+: 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh. It has an 11 kW motor that produces 14.75 bhp, a maximum speed of 125 kmph. Additionally, the bike can go from 0 to 40 kmph in a 2.7-second. The 9.1 kWh battery with the 4680 Bharat Cell promises an incredible 501 km range on a single charge. On the other hand, the 4.5 kWh version has a range of 252 km. Furthermore, batteries are covered by a standard 3-year warranty, which can be extended upto 5 to 8 years by paying more.
Like the Ola Electric scooters, the Ola Roadster X+ has a futuristic design. It has a minimalist look and sharp & edgy body panels. The battery pack is placed underneath the faux fuel tank, which also serves as a tiny space for storing items. Notable design features include a single-piece pillion grab rail, a flat single-piece seat, and a sleek rectangular LED headlight cluster with an integrated DRL. Moreover, there are five colour options available: Ceramic White, Pine Green, Industrial Silver, Stellar Blue, and Anthracite.
The Ola new Gen 3 platform serves as the foundation for the X+. For the internal circuitry, it has flat wires, which are said to have several advantages over circular cables. Additionally, for braking duties, it has a single disc up front and a drum at the back. The 17-inch alloy wheels are supported by telescopic forks and two springs. Moreover, there is a brake-by-wire system and a single-channel ABS.
Despite being Ola's entry-level motorbike, the Roadster X+ is packed with amazing features. It features three riding modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—and a 4.3-inch LCD display with connectivity options.
The bike has reverse mode, cruise control, and regenerative braking for increased efficiency and safety. It also has security features, including time and geo-fencing, tow and theft fencing, and tyre pressure warnings. OTA (Over-the-Air) updates will be sent to the display over time, keeping the system current with the most recent advancements.
