The KTM 790 Duke, fondly called the “Scalpel,” is back for 2025. This updated model retains its iconic sharp design with some fresh touches. The headlight cowl has been slightly redesigned for a sharper look. Moreover, KTM has introduced two new colours, including Black-Orange and All-Black. These updates make the bike look more stylish than ever.
KTM fans in India might not see the 2025 790 Duke anytime soon. KTM recently launched the 890 Duke R in India. However, there’s speculation that unsold 790 Dukes from Austria might arrive in India at discounted prices. Only time will tell if this happens.
The biggest change for 2025 is the new 5-inch TFT display. This replaces the smaller 4.5-inch unit from before. The display offers exciting features like a telemetry screen to track performance and an anti-wheelie mode with six settings. Furthermore, KTM has added a Demo Mode. This feature allows access to premium settings for 1,500 km, after which riders can pay to unlock them permanently. The new backlit switchgear adds to the bike’s premium feel.
Mechanically, the 790 Duke remains the same as its earlier version. It still features a 799cc twin-cylinder engine. In Europe, it produces 95PS to comply with A2 license regulations. In other markets, the full-power version makes 105PS. Moreover, the bike now meets stricter Euro 5+ emission norms. Riders can enjoy five riding modes, including Rain, Street, Sport, Track, and Performance.
