On the 22nd of March 2025, Honda launched the updated CBR150R in Malaysia. The bike gets two new colours as an update and mechanically remains unchanged. Moreover, it is doubtful that Honda would introduce the updated model in India. 
 

Talking about the competition, Yamaha R15 V4 is always the biggest competitor of this bike in the Indian market. So, in this blog we are going to compare the existing model of Honda CBR150R with the Yamaha R15 V4 according to design, features, engine, and comfort.
 

Design and Styling

The Honda CBR150R has a sharp front fairing reminiscent of its bigger siblings. It has a twin-pod LED headlight, an angular fuel tank, and aerodynamic bodywork panels to add sportiness to it.
 

On the other hand, the Yamaha R15 V4 has a more aggressive posture. It features a single LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs, just like the Yamaha R7. Additionally, the aggressive fairing design and chiseled fuel tank add to its race-bred looks.

The Honda CBR150R features a full-digital instrument cluster showing all information. Additionally, it features LED headlights and tailght, and dual-channel ABS.
 

The Yamaha R15 V4 comes packed with the latest features. It features a digital LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, dual-channel ABS, and an assist and slipper clutch. Some variants also include a quick shifter to further improve the riding experience.
 

Engine and Performance

The Honda CBR150R has a 149.16cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The engine can generate 17.6 BHP at 9,000 rpm and 14.4 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. Moreover, the engine delivers a smooth and refined ride with 6-speed transmission.
 

Yamaha R15 V4 has a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine, It generates 18.15 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It has a compression ratio of 11.6:1 and a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology feature, giving it improved top-end performance so that it can handle high-speed riding.
 

Comfort and Riding Experience
Honda CBR150R vs Yamaha R15 V4

The CBR150R has an upright, comfortable riding position with subtly raised handlebars and a cushioned seat, which makes it ideal for regular commuting and longer trips.
 

The Yamaha R15 V4, on the other hand, has an aggressive riding position with low clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs, which gives it a sporty feel but could be less comfortable over long distances.
