2025 KTM 390 Adventure vs Old Model: What’s New?

2025 KTM 390 Adventure vs Old Model: What’s New?

KTM has officially revealed the updated 390 Adventure, and it comes with major upgrades. The new model has a more powerful engine, better features, and a fresh design. Compared to the previous version, it offers more comfort, technology, and off-road capability.

KTM will launch the 2025 390 Adventure in India in the coming days. Alongside the standard model, KTM is also expected to introduce a road-biased variant, the 390 Adventure X. Let’s take a closer look at what’s different.

More Power and Performance

The biggest change is the engine. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure now has a 399cc motor, replacing the older 373cc unit. Moreover, the power generation has increased from 43.5hp to 46hp, and torque has gone up from 37Nm to 39Nm. This means better acceleration and performance on highways and off-road trails. The engine is the same as the one in the latest KTM 390 Duke. This ensures a smoother and more refined ride.

Upgraded Features and New Styling

The new model takes features to the next level. It now has adjustable suspension, multiple riding modes, and cornering ABS with traction control. Most importantly, it is the first sub-500cc adventure bike in India to get cruise control.

The styling has also changed significantly. The 2025 model looks slimmer and more aggressive, with a stepped single-piece seat replacing the older bike’s split seats. These changes make the bike more comfortable and adventure-ready.

Specification Upgrades

A major difference between the two models is the seat height. The 2025 model has a lower 830mm seat compared to the previous version’s 855mm. This makes it easier for shorter riders to handle.

However, despite the lower seat, ground clearance has increased to 227mm, which is higher than before. This is possible due to the new suspension, which offers 200mm front and 205mm rear travel.

While the fuel tank remains the same at 14.5 litres, the new model is slightly heavier. It weighs 183kg, which is 6kg more than the previous bike. However, this extra weight comes from the stronger frame and new features. The bike still has a steel trellis frame but with improved suspension for better handling.
