The 250cc streetfighter segment is on fire with Hero Xtreme 250R launched recently at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. As of now, the bike is a direct competitor to the Suzuki Gixxer 250, which has been recently updated with features. Both these bikes promise better performance, sharp designs, and modern features. So, let us compare them so that you can pick the best bike for your requirements. Pricing & Colour Schemes The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is priced between Rs. 1.81 to 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Xtreme 250R is tagged at Rs. 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom), which means it is cheaper by Rs. 18,000 than its counterpart. This bike is not only affordable, but Hero has also provided three bold colour options for it. These include Firestorm Red, Neon Shooting Star, and Stealth Black. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 comes in elegant shades of matte black and matte blue. Design and StylingThe Xtreme 250R offers aggressive, sporty looks, treading on sharp tank extensions and angular LED headlamps. There's the split seat and high tail section, adding much to the streetfighter appeal of this Hero bike. There are gold-coloured inverted forks that actually give a premium touch to the design of the motorcycle. On the other hand, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 features a slim, minimalist design. It comes with clean lines, a smooth fuel tank, and a compact tail section. Apart from that, the design makes it seem more mature and refined on the road. Performance and HardwareThe Gixxer 250 features a 249cc liquid-cooled engine generating 26.14 bhp and 22.2 Nm of torque. It sports a 6-speed gearbox, but it takes its own route to comfort with the use of a telescopic front fork rather than the inverted forks that were used. Both the bikes run on 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-channel ABS, and disc brakes on both ends. On the other hand, its competitor is equipped with a 249.03cc liquid-cooled engine that churns out 29.5bhp and 25Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch. Hero employs a trellis frame with a suspension comprising 43mm inverted forks up front and an adjustable preload monoshock in the rear. Features and TechnologyHero Xtreme 250R takes the lead in some advanced features, including switchable ABS, traction control, and riding modes. On top of it, there's an LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity supporting navigation, call alerts, and media controls. Whereas, in the Gixxer 250, this feature set seems a little plain. While including turn-by-turn Bluetooth connectivity and alerting features for notifications, this bike does not offer switchable ABS and traction control.
